Jordy and Ton Cobelens, the founders of TW Steel, and CEO and Chief Design Officer respectively, saw an opportunity and seized it through the creation of TW Steel in Amsterdam in 2005. They developed four high-quality watch models, the first Canteen Style editions, with striking, fashionable oversized designs and an affordable price point to further their appeal.
An instant success, ‘The Watch in Steel’ grew rapidly from its origins in The Netherlands then through Europe and subsequently worldwide. Jordy Cobelens knows watches! As CEO of TW Steel he is engaged in the development of a burgeoning global watch brand – a business he learned from the ground up with experience in sales and distribution dating back to his teens. His entrepreneurial efforts have been recognized as he was named ‘Emerging Entrepreneur of the Year’ at the 2011 Ernst & Young Business Awards.
