The round steel case highlights a black dial with luminous hands and markers for nighttime visibility, large Arabic numerals, orange seconds hands, and a distinctive three-date display at the 9 o’clock hour. Two round subdials display small seconds and chronograph minutes to 60, and an outer ring holds the 1/5 second indexes as well as a tachymeter scale. About Seiko
In 1877, at the age of 18, Kintaro Hattori set up business repairing the Western-style clocks that were becoming increasingly popular in Japan.
