Carbon 14 is a new active, outdoor lifestyle brand created by the iBeam Group, LLC . Founded in 2008, the iBeam Group owns a patented technology aptly named iBeam Technology. This technology features a built-in high intensity LED flashlight combined with a flip-up 3x magnifying lens all conveniently placed in a wrist watch. Geared toward the large and growing segment of active outdoor enthusiasts, the concept behind Carbon 14 was to develop a new, sporty and distinctive outdoor brand that could strategically incorporate iBeam Technology.

Why Carbon 14?
Carbon 14 means Time – the C14 brand name refers itself directly to the radiocarbon dating method which determines the age of all organic elements.

Carbon 14 Watches
All Carbon 14 watches reflect Italian design, Swiss quality, and American values. The watch collection is concentrated around 3 relevant themes which affect our daily lives: Earth, Water and Air. All Carbon 14 watches range in price from $200 USD to $500 USD (up to $800 USD for special editions), and all use Japanese Quartz Miyota movements. The Earth collection features rugged, 42-44MM stainless steel cases, crown protectors, nylon and leather straps, deployment buckles, and are water resistant to 50M/165Ft. The Water collection features 44-46MM cases with PVD finishes, screw down crowns, pushers, and case backs, custom made silicone straps, traditional buckles, and are water resistant to 100M/330Ft. The Air collection features over-sized 46MM cases with PVD finishes, flip-up crown protectors, aeronautic themed dials, leather and textile straps, deployment buckles, and are water resistant to 50M/165Ft.

Carbon 14 Ambassadors
The first official Carbon 14 brand ambassador is Korath Wright. Born in the Bahamas, raised in Canada, Korath is a world class snowboarder and will represent the Bahamas during the 2010 Winter Olympic Games. He will represent Carbon 14 at select retail locations, press events, and at all half-pipe competitions leading up to 2010 Winter Olympic Games.

Carbon 14 Environmental Award
The concept is to drive people to the Carbon 14 website to propose worthy individuals to receive the C14 Environmental Award, which is a $50,000 annual grant. Nominees include narratives, photos, and/or videos. A panel of judges will narrow the field to the top 10 or 20 nominations. Consumers will then vote through the internet.
